I am so very greatful for this site and thankful to everyone who has responded to my many previous posts! I did not get a booklet on the refrig in my camper and have some questions. Most will probably laugh but I just want to understand better how the settings work. It is a 3 way. When I switch it to LP, does it light automatically? Also why is there 2 dial settings, one on the left and one on the right? Is one for the frig and one for freezr? As far as the ventilation motor, will that drain my battery fast as I won't have electric?

If it's like mine, Donna, it DOES light automatically when you switch it to LP. In my case though, if it doesn't light (due to air in the lines) it switches back to DC after a couple of minutes, so, DO check on it. DC operation will drain your battery fast. I always light a stove burner to get gas in the lines before trying to run the refrigerator, but still, there's a short length of line that is dedicated to the refrigerator that has to be purged.

I don't have dials though. Mine is all push-button. On the right side is the control for refrigerator temperature. I always run mine full cold. The freezer is not separate.

The refrigerator fan DOES use some power, but it is thermostatically controlled, so it doesn't run all the time. I haven't measured the Amp draw, but I don't consider it excessive. I have the fan on anytime the refrigerator is on.

Thanks for the quick reply. Now I have to wonder what the other dial is for. They both have the number settings. One dial is by the battery or DC switch and the other is by the LP switch. A person wouldn't think you would have seperate settings depending on source.

I have an older 3-way refrigerator on my 97 towlite. The dial that I believe your talking about is a reostat (the higher the number on the dial the colder the refrigerator gets) Its not a thermostat. I use a separate thermostat mounted on the inside of the refrigerator to monitor temp. The outside temperture affects what setting you have the reostat set on.(higher temp. outside= higher number on reostat).Try that I may, I always freeze the lettuce. I think it's because there's not enough air movment in the refrigerator

The second dial I have is my three-way switch( 12v/electric/gas). When the switch is set on gas, I hold in one button for the pilot light and push the second button for the ignitor. When I see that the pilot light is lit ,(the view window) I hold the pilot button in for another 10 seconds before letting it go.

On my year of 3-way refrigerator, I don't have a thermostat controlled cooling fan (helps with the efficiency on cooling during warmer days).

Where is the view window? I know one dial is for controlling the temp inside the frig. But what is the other dial for, that also has numbers on it? My camper is a 2000 so could be a little different.

The view window will glow orange when the pilot is lit and is located next to the pilot and ignitor push buttons. On my refrigator, my dials, push buttons and view window are located below the door near the floor. I have to open the main refrigerator door to see the settings on the dials.

Donna -

I just put a manual in the library that is the same series as yours, but not the eaxct model.

Look at this link

If it isnt close enough, then you can equest a manual directly from Dometic. They are very good about this sort of thing and they have an email address setup exactly for that purpose. Here is the information.

Contact internet@dometic.se with your name, country you live in and model name of product.

Got it up and running. Thanks everyone for your input. One last question. There is a vent on the outside in back of the frig. There is insulation along the wall where the exhaust pipe and the pipe is pretty hot. I noticed from past usage the paper on the insulation is black where it lay against the pipe. Is this normal or can it start on fire?
