We have a 1994 Hi-Lo and we have a roof leak. Even with the top lowered, we cannot inspect and reseal roof vents. Is the roof strong enough to support a person? Thank you, Lillian
I'm 240 and get on top of my roof with no problem. If you are talking caulking a lot on this forum recommend Lexel brand which is a little expensive as caulking goes. But you get what you pay for. My local Ace Hardware carries it.
I walk on my roof anytime I have a need to, an I weigh 170#. There have been so many models built over so many years that I can only speak for my unit. If you have any questions about your roof supporting your weight use two pieces of 1/2 inch plywood aprox 18" to 24" to stand on to spread your weight over a larger area.
DH gets up on our rubber roof to wash, apply roof coating and inspect vents or refresh dicor sealant as needed. Use extreme caution if wet from washing. Knee pads work well and kneeling down. DH is 165lbs in the winter and less in the summer. Use a good sturdy ladder to get on the roof. I steady the ladder and hand him tools and the water hose. Keep us posted.
Thank you all for your help. I am 74 and hubby is disabled but we have a handy grandson who is pretty thin so I think we can get this done. We are thinking of selling our Hi-Lo once we get it sealed. Husband's health will no longer allow us the joys of camping but we certainly have good memories from our Hi-Lo. Thanks again, Lillian
