TV antenna

I’m just up in Ruston so I’m sure we could work something out. I can’t recall if I saved the interior handle that would ‘wind’ it up and down though. The large antenna part itself is in the yard waiting for a job.

I took the thing off to eliminate the hole in the roof when I re-roofed my Classic a few months ago. Have you considered an exterior, temporary antenna? You could put it out as needed. It could be an easier way to go if the holes and such were never in place on your HiLo in the first place. There’s likely a Co-ax hookup on the outside of the trailer somewhere, you could potentially wire it into that.

Just thinking out loud here.

Yes, that is the way I am thinking now. Don't really want to put a hole in my roof. Have not looked for cable hook-up on outside but saw it on the inside. Thanks for the offer.

You bet, just keep me in the loop if you want it. Consider it a freebie if needed.

I've never used mine and thinking about taking mine off. You know what would be super super cool in it's are placement? A periscope!

Periscope mounted on in hitch jack area or spare tire area ..there are lots of small high power antenas on market with this digital age

cva34, now that's an old carrier! Just a note, I downloaded a couple apps to my phone that really helps in this matter. One is called "DTV ANTENNAS" shows all the antenna towers and how far away they are. It actually points them out. Aim your antenna to them and your in. Free app!
Next one is called "SMART TOOL BOX" It has like 40 different things--compass, level, dog whistle on and on. I use this a lot. Also free.
A third one is called "MY ELEVATION" self explanatory. Again free.

Right on USS ORISKANY CVA 34...it was home 65 into 68..And now she is fishing reef off Pensacola ...There is a Movie on its Sinking..Thinking it called (sinking of aircraft carrier) saw it on PBS few years ago...I have a small digital antenna in my van ..its totaly in cab and I live about 70m from Houston and it picks up lots

Been almost a year and I still thinking now and then...Latest is mount antenna on expandable pole( 2 or 3 section)..with plate that bolts on instead of spare tire on rear..Throw spare in bed of truck..May be able to lower below top of camper for travel..or just remove for travel and throw in bed of truck with spare ...In my head best idea yet..about ready to do unless some one talks me out of it...

I am partial to an older post . . . an idea were a solar panel was hooked up to the antenna to move it to the optimal position from inside hand crank. I also jive the idea of a deck or a periscope. How about putting a solar shower or water jugs on roof before lifting! Let gravity do the work! They all laugh at first!
