Weather stripping help

I need to replace maybe all of the weather stripping which creates the seal between top and bottom. Right now I believe snow would blow in. Hoping I don't have to go to RV shop as I understand that's probably expensive. Planning to start looking at Home Depot and etc. Any advice/experience to share?

My exact reaction when I discovered that to replace the fuel pump in my Ford Ranger would require removing the bed from the truck! What engineer thought that was a good idea??

You might consider a temporary fix, such as placing "pool noodles" around the joint between upper and lower halves once you raise the top. Just be sure to remove them before you lower the top. And, you know that if the seal is compromised, you can expect dust to enter the camper whenever you tow it down a gravel road.

Others here can suggest the appropriate seal material to buy and sources.

Replacing seal between upper and lower half

DH and I have done this repair on our 1990 25ft. Classic HiLo. You need 3/4 hollow p bulb seal with 1" stem. You could get the seal from J&R in Ohio. We did this because we didn't know the size. It cost us $450.00 with shipping. This can be a do it your self job if you are handy. It involves jacking up the HiLo at various corners( breaking the trailer in half so you can remove the old seal and staple the new one in place. Other sources for the seal are Extrusions epm.com Try McMaster carr EPDM "P bulb seal". We were unable to seperae the HiLo enough to replace around our refrigerator. I made some towel snakkes and filled with beans for the refrigerator area. It will take you at least eight hours to do this repair. It will cost plenty if you have a shop do it. It would have to be a known HiLo dealer that has done this repair on other units. I'm sure their are some back posts on this repair.

I am interested in a new seal, also I dread going down a dusty road. Wonder if towing in the rain will get the curtains wet?

With a bad seal, I never had the curtains get wet even in the FL rainy season. But the road dirt was bad enough. The clincher was when camping, at night we often get into bed with the lamps on and do our email/texting for about 1/2 hr. The bugs, no-see-ems etc, would follow the light thru the bad seal. DSO said fix it.
After separating the top and bottom (easier than I thought), I took my time and did everything correctly, and also did some much needed cleaning. Lowering the top took coordination, but went very smoothly.
An air compressor with a good staple gun and weatherproof staples made the job quite easy. Our surprising total time about 6 hrs complete. I DID use 4 X 4s instead of 2xs on the corners the 2 X 4s across the corners and went from there.
Just take your time. You can find separating the halves in the "search" heading at the top of the forum.

The section will let me staple it on, has the same width and the material should last since it is designed for daily use.

Did your product from Home Depot work for your entry door? Ours didn't have any there when we purchased it. We've been shoving a pool noodle in it which helps somewhat but not 100%
