After almost a year with the camper sitting I'm finally getting ready to hit the road with my 2017 Coachmen Catalina. While getting ready for new tires I found that the trailer is equipped with Dexter axles that have the grease zerts to lube the bearings. It seem simple enough, just spin the...
Hello there. So my problem is when I use the recommended jack points on the frame of my Forest River 2400WS Mercedes class C RV, I can’t jack the rear dually tires off the ground! The leaf springs sage and I push the frame up, but not enough travel to get the tires up.
I’ve seen some videos...
Hello All,
I am new here. I just bought a 263 BHXL. I noticed there are no zerk fittings on the axles/hubs. I asked the service advisor about this, he said they no longer put them on the axles due to people not cleaning the expelled grease and causing a problem with the brakes.
Had anyone...
Hello from Colorado everyone! I just got my Aplha Wolf 26RL-L in December. I was crawling around under it today and saw this on the rear axle. It looks like the axle is slightly bent. Any ideas?
Got a 2020 Sabre 37FLH and looked at the stickers on the front driver side of the RV, but nowhere does it state whether I have 7 or 8,000lb axles on my rig. Anyone know where to find this info?
Later this month, I'm planning to replace the stock suspension equalizers with ,likely, a Lippert...
Hi,
Was wondering what kind of jack do you guys use to jack up your trailer for a single axle tire change?
Or is there a specific jack we need to purchase for different geo pro model?
Need to purchase one just in case need to change a tire.
Please advise. thank you..
I own a 2015 Expedition EL Limited. I picked up a new travel trailer.
Here are the numbers I am seeing.
Ford Weight: 6103 stock according to Ford Fleet guide (FFG). Weighed mine at Cat Scale this morning before getting the rv. Myself, Wife, some tools and equipment in back, 6780. The FFG...
Was under my unit today doing some M&R and noticed a spring from one of my brakes assy poking out through the adjustment hole . so instead of taking apart i just bought 4 more new brake backing plates and new axles seals for a full re-pack while i have them apart . Just replace the bearing in...
2015 Rockwood Windjammer with Dexter Torflex axles. The right rear brake is clanking and braking hard compared to the other three wheels.
I am traveling and have no where to get it fixed until Monday. Can i cut the wire to the one wheel and travel 300 miles tomorrow safely? I am in Isleton, CA...
So..
I just bought this camper.. it was basically in a climate controlled garage for the first 3 yrs of its life, then placed under a carport. It looks brand new. Previous owners took it on two trips that were around 1000 miles each. Other than that it didn't go anywhere other than between...
Seems over the last couple years, the wide stance dual axle configure is being pushed by the industry. For those RV’ers that have towed both, can you really tell a difference in stability and sway?
I have been from Alaska to Dallas and plan a return trip. On the trip down I towed a trailer and was glad that I had dual axles when I had a flat. Having tow axles gave me time to find a safe spot to pull over.
I want to use a tow dolly to tow our Pacifica. I have two 3000 axles and am...
Hello all we just bought our first travel trailer. Had it for two weeks and just got back from our first trip. So far we love it. Question thou. The GVWR says 4795 lbs but I was looking around the Axle and it's a Lippert and it says max 4400lbs. Shouldn't the Axle max weight be way over the GVWR?
Hi, greetings from Ohio. My family and I just bought our first camper, 2018 Rockwood Premier 2317G. Like many, we started in a 2 person tent, then a 6 person, rented a class C last year and now purchased a pop up.
I’ve read a lot of threads and here’s my first...for folks with easy lube axles...
I recently had a bearing go bad on an Al KO axle for my '08 Signature Ultra Light Model 8314SS. The road side Tech I called used an impact driver to remove the castle nut but stripped all the threads. To his defense, the nut may have been seized due to the high temps and made the spindle...
Part 1 Axle Lift
In order to get away from the chy-nah bomb 13" tires, have to go minimum 14" to get a decent tire like Goodyear Endurance. Off we go on this project. Found a piece of 2" X 4" X 4' thick walled tubing. Cut to get two 18" pieces if memory serves me correct. Marked mounting hole...
My single axle NoBo has Dexter torsion suspension and is so bouncy it tosses things in the air on small bumps. What do you all think is the best upgrade for a smooth ride on back country roads?
I was going to upgrade our Imagine 2970rl from the 4400 lb axles to the 5200 lb axles, but decided to get a Reflection instead. So, I have two brand new 5200 lb axles that are perfect for an Imagine. If you can use them, contact me. $550 each. Will split shipping cost with you.

I decided to replace my existing equalizers with the LCI Equa-Flex Equalizers. When I went to measure the span of the bolts I noticed wear around the heads of several of the bolts. Upon removing the shackles and bolts I found severe wear in the holes of the shackles. Since this is a 2018 FR...
Just a FYI if your tt or 5er has torsion axles . Manufacturer recommends taking the weigh off of the axles when not in use or long term storage (2 months or more ). I would imagine this would include when you leave on RV site for an extended stay
Hi Everybody,
We are setting up the TT we just purchased in our driveway to "practice" with it before hitting the road. The issue is that the driveway slopes slightly. I could level the trailer front-to-back by almost fully retracting the tongue jack so that the frame in front is just a coupe...
