We bought a 2015 Sunseeker class C motorhome in 2916.
it is a 2650S-CDW. When we bought it one of the stickers by the door said it was “solar ready”. The sales people at the dealer did not say anything about a solar panel and did not know what the switch down by the floor, at the...
I'm looking to purchase and hookup to the batteries a "free standing" solar panel kit to keep my coach's batteries charged when it's in storage.
We rarely "dry camp" so I'm not interested in mounting anything up on the roof.
(Georgetown 360 / 2-12 volt, Grp 31 batteries)
We're in So Cal. So...
If I connect a portable 80 watt solar panel unit to my single 12 volt DC battery via alligator clips, do I need to disconnect the wiring from the inverter to safely charge the battery? Thanks for input.
I am planning on doing 400 watts of solar on my DX3. I hate the thoughts of screwing into the roof but if that is the best way so be it. Looking for input from others with solar and how the factory does it.
Still researching, but the Isata 3 seems to be the best value for it's size.
The Isata 3 comes with a standard 1000 watt inverter. The optional solar panel comes with an 1800 watt inverter instead. What will the additional 800 watts do. Simply extend battery time, or allow you to use additional...
Starting to think I should get a small panel to help keep battery charged when parked a couple days.
What’s a decent one I could get without going overkill? Someone said to make sure it comes with a shut off so it won’t over charge.
What watts or voltage should I get?
Thanks
I have a new 2018 Berkshire XL 37A and I'm new at RVing. It was only looking thru docs left to me as to what features I might have, then trying to locate them and figure out how they work for the RV. I located this Morningstar SunSaver module SS-10-12v in a cargo hold right side. Looks like a...
Has anybody ever heard of any 12 volt type solar panels not being able to wire them in series? Not physically of course but technically? I have 4 Coleman 100 watt panels and nowhere on the box or on the enclosed manual does it say to only wire in parallel or not to wire in series! Talked with a...
I have a 2016 Forester MBS 2401S. i am moving to a smaller home and have to move it to a storage yard so i can no longer keep it plugged in. There is an outlet on the side for a Solar Panel. Can I buy any kind of panel and plug it in so that I can keep my battery charged? If yes do i need...
Hi All,
I have a Geo Pro 16BH and I'm trying to determine how to mount 2 Renogy rigid solar panels to the rubber membrane roof. Z-brackets seem to be the easiest/most economical way to go but feel somewhat permanent. In your opinions, does it matter if the solar panels never get removed? My...
Ready to install the solar panels on a 2017 Georgetown 270s but getting nervous about the roof drilling location for bring down the solar panel wires. Because the battery bay is not enclosed, I’m mounting the hardware (controller/shunt/disconnect) under the kitchen cabinets on the exterior...
I recently purchased a 2018 Rockwood Ultralite 2706WS. We live in Colorado and plan to do a lot of boondocking in the numerous state parks and federal forest lands, so I wanted to get a good set of solar panels. I did a lot of research and found a good deal on a 200 Watt foldable panel made by...
We just purchased a Micro Lite 21 FBRS. It comes with Solar panel prep for a zamp panel. Cool, however, zamp is extremely expensive. Not sure I would be comfortable leaving in campsite unattended. The Renogy is less expensive, but will it work with the zamp connector? My camping needs are...
I have a 2015 wildcat max 39 dbh, I can't find the solar panel wires I have looked for the sticker and can't find it. Does anyone have the same tt that could help me
I'm installing two 160 W solar panels on the roof of our motorhome. I wanted to know if there are recommendations and cautions you might have.
I would also like cable routing recommendations. It would be easier if I could pull the refrigerator, but that isn't a task I want to tackle. It looks...
Does anyone have experience with using ACOPOWER with their TT?
They have a 200 Watt portable solar kit that is decently priced. Plus, they sell an adapter for TT with the Zamp plug, which mine came with pre-installed.

2018 Isata3... If I add two more 100w solar panels will I be able to use the 30 amp controller already being used by the 2 -100w panels currently on the roof, or will I need an additional controller?
My husband was washing our RV and when he was finished washing the roof, I noticed that the solar check panel inside the RV said "flooded". He did wash them and rinsed them off with the hose; but what does the "flooded" message mean on the panel inside? Will they still work?
We do a couple weeks off grid a year in our hard sided popup. I've done the math and a 100W panel will suffice to keep our battery topped off.
My question is the controller (allpowers ap-ot-002) has connections for battey, panel and load. Straightforward but I don't know how the existing...
Covering our RV that has Solar Panels for the winter. Is there a way to disconnect them when not in use. The RV is plugged to shore power Thur the winter. We have the GO POWER GPR-22 system.
Or not to do anything the solar will not work since being covered.
I found this on Amazon, Orbit 58543 Telescoping Gutter Cleaning Wand with Ratcheting Head for around $26. Works GREAT for rinsing off the solar panels and the roof without having to go on the ladder. Just make sure you have no leaks up there!
We bought a 2018 23IKSS in August. It has a plug on it to attach a solar panel which says use only Zamp panels. I’m assuming the controller is built into the trailer but I’m not sure. Any advice about this would be appreciated. We do mostly boondocking and I don’t like generators.
Selling my Zamp 160W panel because I'm selling my RV. This thing has allowed me to dry camp most of the Summer, pulling in mega-rays to charge my 2 house batteries and allow me to run electronics from my inverter.
This is a suitcase panel that folds up and comes in a case. It includes a 15ft...
