Finally got some paint down, going for a 50's theme kind of, been looking at travel trailer paint jobs and wanted to do something wild.

Wow! That does look a little wild. Anxious to see it all back together. I know it will look great.

I was able to get all the cabinet doors and drawers put back together, and finally got the top adjusted to where it should be. It was off by four inches! Looks like the cable clamps had slipped.

Renovations/painting

Your work is coming along nicely. We spent all afternoon on a HiLo repair. One more long session and our repairs will be completed. Then camping in Sept.

Got all the sanding done, and the first coat of paint on this evening after work. It's already looking a lot bigger inside.









I actually have three coats on now, just finished cleaning up, but it was too dark for pictures, so I'll take them tomorrow.

Paint was dry this morning and looks pretty good. The guy at lowes apparently mixed the wrong color, it was supposed to be a shade darker, but it's close enough. Semi-gloss so it will be easy to wipe off when it gets dirty.

Sweet. It's coming along nicely. Gonna get some more done to mine tomorrow. Had to pour a concrete slab as a side job today so no work on the trailer.

Lookin real real nice, keep up the good work. We just finished our little 1963 model 209 remodel, lots of work but worth the reward.

Well today I only have one picture, most of what I did was under the trailer. I rewired the running lights and brake lights. I also welded the flip down stabilizer jacks and and fixed the ball mount where it was cracked. I also painted the light fixtures while I had them off for painting.



Getting tires put on tomorrow, and it's pretty much ready for camping. Still plenty to do, but now I can take it camping in between working on it.

Renovations

Everything is coming along nicely. Amazing what a can of spray paint can do to make something old look like new. I also see your posts in the vintage section of www.irv2.com Dh wanted to do a 3ft. section of seal on our trailer that needs reworked. First our generator broke and then it rains at least three days of the week. He has to work outside. He is able to borrow a generator. Our neighbors hot water tank went on the blink. It took him and a helper eight ours to install/retrofit. Only three trips to H.D. for parts. No leaks with the soapy water test. Plenty of hot water now!!

Finally got new rubber on the camper. Found that I towed the camper home with only the hubcap holding the lug nuts on. Just glad I made it. Wheel studs were shot, but it was a good chance to re-grease the bearings and check the status of the brakes. I also cleaned up the padding for the beds and table. I'll eventually reupholster them, as the white vinyl was done poorly but the camper is ready to pull. The interior lights quit working when I re-wired the tow lights, but I'm researching that now.

Painting the window framing, some of it I had to paint in place. Thinking about painting the cabinet hardware to match, the copper doesn't really fit in.

I vaguely remember something about newspapers in the olden days when I was young, but now so much is through the internet I also would have to scrounge for newspapers.

I haven't bought a newspaper in years. I had some old magazines laying around, they worked perfect.
