Hydraulic cylinder

I'm needing to pull out the Hydraulic cylinder for replacement. Can I do this with the camper up as I need to do work inside still and I'm not sure how long it will take to fix the cylinder

I suspect that might be possible, but you should lower the top a bit onto at least 4-2x4s that will support the top when the cylinder is out. Notice I said "lower", which will take the tension off the cables so that the cylinder is no longer holding the top up. So, you cut the 2x4s at least one inch shorter than the full-up length would be. Place the 2x4s between the outriggers and the top, so that the top is supported the same way it is when lowered for traveling. You can use duct tape to hold the 2x4s in place vertically before the top is lowered.

Now, I've never done your repair so what I've said may be wrong. If so, I hope someone who HAS removed the cylinder will correct me.

I have replaced a jack using the method Jack states in his response. Having access to the upper pullies when you are assembling the system, after repair, when you have access to the top pullies.

you are correct to place 2 x4 or I seen Joel do mine to adjust the cable and he use 4 x 4 and also put one at the rear or on the sides if you have the one that rest on the frame extend and the front

I PULLED IT OFF AND PIRTEK HYDRAULIC REBUILT IT
